¨Cardinal Sales was founded in 1968 by Sumner Selby.  He had been working for manufacturers like GE and CBS and found the need to build a better rep company based on what he had seen in the electronic industry.

¨Initially the company was representing home audio and video companies.  Many were instrumental in this growing business, such as Pioneer, Hitachi, Maxell, Infinity, Akai and United Audio (DUAL), Pickering and Ortofon.

¨By the late 1970’s, Cardinal Sales expanded into the 12-Volt category, representing companies such as Jensen  and Infinity car.  We have been the Kenwood USA rep since 1985.  We  have been involved with many 12-Volt associations such as MERA and IASCA.  We have also been involved in the MECP testing and certification process.

 

¨The Custom Home Audio and Video business seemed to start to come together in the early 1990’s and Cardinal Sales joined the CEDIA organization and focused heavily in this growing segment.
